Central Guard Personnel
There are many people who work in the criminal justice system in Brightshore. Following is a list of the major players within the guard.
Captain Redford Bolt
Male. Human. Early-to-mid 40s. Dark skin, close-cropped gray hair.
Captain Bolt is extremely reserved. His face remains utterly impassive, even when he says he is experiencing extreme emotion. He's a little past his physical prime, but carries himself with a commanding grace.
He came to Brightshore to support his husband, Colin, in his studies of Brightshore's history and has been an exemplary member of the Guard ever since. This is his first command post due to his unwillingness to be bribed or corrupted by the nobles of his homeland.
He is a follower of Unre and he and Colin have a pet retriever named Paprika.
Lieutenant Jamie Santangelo
Female. Half-elf. Around 60 years old (comparable to late 20s, in human biology). Light brown skin, dark, straight hair. Very straight teeth.
Lieutenant Santangelo always has a nervous, excitable energy about her and is a stickler for rules, procedure, and organization. She wears a vest lined with pockets, and a belt with many pouches, in which she keeps her spell supplies.
She joined the Guard shortly after it was formed, and idolizes the Captain completely. The two of them get along well due to their love of rules and organization, and work together to keep Lieutenant Rialta out of trouble and clean up after his messes.
Santangelo's family owns a humble bakery in Brightshore, and she has seven older brothers.
Lieutenant Rafe Rialta
Male. Elf. Perhaps 90 years old (physically mature, but not yet considered an adult in most elven cultures). Curly brown hair, hazel eyes, impish smile.
Lieutenant Rialta thinks life is a grand adventure, and loves cracking jokes, horsing around, and eating sweets. He wears a brown leather jacket over his rumpled tunic, soft leather boots, and always carries his trusty daggers.
He joined the Guard around the same time as Jamie Santangelo, and annoys her and the Captain frequently with his immature antics. However, he is surprisingly intuitive and observant, and is not afraid to throw himself into danger to bring the bad guys to justice.
His mother works as a scribe and teacher. He does not know where his father is.
