This magical instrument was carved from the massive horn of a Nightwalker whose enervation desolated surrounding plant life absorbing its essence - causing the creature to mutate and evolve with horrible, weaponized, thorns and vines. The black horn that remained after the creature 's death, was carved into a beautiful, yet powerful Fiddle with silver strings whose energy balances between both the force of death and the gift of regrowth and life.
The Fiddle of the Thorned Nightwalker is a +1 instrument, and thus allows for the bard attuned to it to deliver their bardic inspiration dice with an added +1. For example, a 5th level bard who uses this instrument, delivers a 1d8+1 inspiration dice, rather than just a 1d8.
While attuned to this instrument, you may add the Chill Touch and Druidcraft cantrips to your list of known cantrips and cast them using Charisma as your spellcasting modifier.
Additionally, you may invoke the powers of the Fiddle to cast either Ensnaring Strike or Hex, as a 1st level spell, by striking either a major third or a tri-tone across two strings, respectively. Casting either of these spells in this way uses Charisma as your spellcasting modifier. When this property is utilized to cast Ensnaring Strike, it can't be used again until the next dawn. When this property is utilized to cast Hex, it can't be used again until the next dusk.
