Usable by a Cleric, Monk, Paladin, or Divine Soul Sorcerer.
These charms consist of elaborate incantations written on slips of blessed paper. They can be created and used only by clerics, monks, paladins, and divine soul sorcerers. When you use an ofuda, make a melee or ranged spell attack with it against an aberration, celestial, fey, fiend, monstrosity, shapeshifter, or undead within 20 feet. On a miss, the charm burns up and is destroyed. On a successful hit, the ofuda’s powers activate. Ofuda with instantaneous effects are destroyed immediately afterward. Ofuda with lingering effects become attached to the creature and cannot be removed unless dispelled. Once the effect ends or you lose concentration, the ofuda is destroyed. There are many varieties of ofuda.
Ofuda of Anchoring. Uncommon (crafting cost: 100 gp, 5 days). On a hit, the creature is unable to use or benefit from abilities that would cause it to teleport or shift between planes for 10 minutes.
Ofuda of Clarity. Uncommon (crafting cost: 100 gp, 5 days). On a hit, the creature reverts to its true form and is unable to benefit from any abilities that would cause it to change form for 10 minutes.
Ofuda of Holding. Rare (crafting cost: 1,000 gp, 15 days). On a hit, the creature is paralyzed for 1 minute or until it is damaged.
Ofuda of Protection. Common (crafting cost: 25 gp, 1 day). When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to activate this ofuda. Make a ranged spell attack roll. If the result is equal to or higher than the opponent’s attack roll, the opponent’s attack misses or, if the opponent scored a critical hit, the effect is reduced to a normal hit.
Ofuda of Radiance. Common (crafting cost: 25 gp, 1 day). On a hit, the creature takes radiant damage equal to 2d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier and is unable to recover hit points until the start of your next turn.
Ofuda of Silence. Uncommon (crafting cost: 100 gp, 5 days). On a hit, the creature is unable to speak or cast spells requiring verbal components for 1 minute.
