This six foot long staff is made from what appears to be the fused vertebrae
of a number of zombies, and is topped with a skull. The staff glows a
faint, sickly green, while the skull glows a light, frosty blue. Once
attuned to the staff, you frequently hear the faint sounds of clattering
bones, and feel uneasy in the presence of the living.
While attuned to this staff, twice per day you may summon a zombie and a
skeleton. On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally
command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within
60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any
or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one).
You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move
during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to
guard a particular chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the
creature only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an
order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.
At midnight, any undead you have summoned with this ability crumble to
nothing. The staff regains the ability to summon undead at midnight. While attuned to this staff, you may cast Chill Touch as a cantrip. In addition, the staff has 7 charges, which you can expend to cast the following spells:
Animate Dead: 2 charges
Speak With Dead: 3 charges
Negative Energy Flood: 5 charges
The staff regains 1d6+1 charges at midnight. If you expend the staff's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff crumbles into bone powder and is
destroyed.
